From St Andrews - Born 12.5.1802 possibly the son of a Dr. Murray, who was known to the Earl of Kellie. [Doctor]

Career

Also at Edinburgh University - medical student 1819-1822. L.R.C.S.E. 1822. Possibly continued to study medicine at Edinburgh with gaps and was M.D. in 1826.

Surgeon’s mate and surgeon on various ships. Assistant surgeon Indian Medical Service Bombay [now Mumbai, India] 1827. Surgeon 1842. Retired 1851. Perhaps then settled to practise at Oldham, but that might be a different man. [Doctor]

Death

Died 7.7.1855.
