Born 17.1.1746 son of David Smyth of Methven and Mary Graham.

Attended school in St Andrews and at Eton (probably the unnamed Smith who was a pupil 1758-1761).

Career

Admitted burgess, St Andrews 17.7.1758.

Admitted advocate 1767. Sheriff of Perth 1786-1793. Raised to bench as Lord Methven 1793. [Lawyer]

Succeeded to Methven estate. [Landowner]

Death

Died 30.1.1806.
