Studied Edinburgh University - arts student 1858-1859, medical student 1860-1861, London and Paris.

L.R.C.S.E. 1865. F.R.C.S.E. 1868.

Assisted his father for some years. Medical Superintendent Stirling District Asylum 1866-1876. Practised Wellington, New Zealand. Inspector of Lunatic Asylums and hospitals to the colony of New Zealand. [Doctor]

Death

Died at Wellington [New Zealand] 25.6.1881 aged 39.
