Born 10.6.1858 son of John Campbell Shairp, Principal of United College and Eliza Douglas.

Attended School at Brenchley, Kent (2) and Fettes College (3).

Career

Also at Oxford University - B.A. 1881 and Edinburgh University - law student 1881-1882.

Admitted advocate 1883. Sheriff substitute of Ayrshire. [Lawyer]

Succeeded his uncle as 12th Laird of Houston in 1891.

Death

Died 31.12.1913.
