Career
Parochial schoolmaster Abernethy 1774-1779. Usher Perth Grammar School 1779-1786. Rector High school of the Canongate 1786 - 1795. Taught English to the Count D’Artois afterwards Charles X of France when in Holyrood. Classical master Edinburgh High School 1795 - 1818 (retired). Travelled widely including Malta, Palestine and Egypt. [Teacher]
