Born 3.3.1804 son of Laurence Oliphant of Gask and Christian Robertson.

Career

Perhaps the James Oliphant who was a law student at Edinburgh University 1827-1828.

Succeeded his elder brother as laird of Gask 1824.

Served heir male to last Lord Oliphant in 1839, but did not push claim further.

Death

Died without issue 1847.
