Born 12.3.1877 son of William Sydney de Mattos, Richmond and Katherine Stevenson.

Attended Tuxles School, Haslemere and Wimbledon School.

Career

Received into Roman Catholic Church 1895. Assistant priest, Lincoln 1904-1911. Rector Roman Catholic Church, Ilkeston 1911-1915, 1918-1932. Acted as Chaplain in First World War 1915-1918. Chaplain to Turville Petre family, Bosworth Hall, Leics [Bosworth Hall, Leicestershire] c. 1932-1942.

Death

Died at Franciscan Nursing Home, Milford on Sea 27.2.1950 and buried in Stevenson enclosure, Calton Cemetery, Edinburgh.
