Born 31.5.1849 at Aberdeen son of Alexander Mathew, factory overseer and Jean Mortimer.

Career

Studied at Melbourne University - M.A. 1.5.1886, B.D. ad eundem 1913, D.D. 1924.

Station manager, gold digger and teacher before going to University.

Minister Ballan 1887-1889. Coburg 1889 - 1923 (retired).

Studied and published on Australian aborigines.

Death

Died at Coburg, Melbourne [Australia] 11.3.1929.
