Baptised 23.9.1832 son of John McGregor, painter, St Andrews(later America) and Elizabeth Coupar.

Career

Set up as a master painter at age of 19 and developed into cabinet making and upholstery and auctioneering. Was one of largest property owners in St Andrews. Entered Town Council in 1862 and was Provost 1893- . Served on many local committees. [Proprietor]
