The James MacFarlane who signed M.D. testimonials from Perth died 12.1.1846 aged 76, but here are others of the name. Two in W. Johnston, Roll of Commissioned Officers in the Medical Service of the British Army 1727-1898 (Aberdeen, 1917) die in 1809 and 1810.
