Birth/childhood

Born 18.1.1809 son of John Jeffreys, solicitor, Swansea. [Lawyer]

Career

Practised as a solicitor in Swansea then after 1856 as a barrister in London. [Lawyer, conchologist, malacologist]

Retired to Ware Priory in 1866.

An enthusiastic naturalist all his life he published voluminously on conchology. F.R.S. 1840.
