Born 14.10.1835 at Olney, Bucks. [Buckinghamshire] son of John James, Baptist minister and Louisa Matilda Cox. [Minister]

Career

Served apprenticeship then studied London.

M.R.C.S.Eng. 1856. M.R.C.P.L. 1867.

Practised Braintree 1858-1861 and afterwards in London. Physician North London consumption hospital. Lecturer in London Hospital first in forensic medicine then in materia medica. Editor of Medical Press and Circular at one time and then of Balneological Journal. Retired about 1903. [Doctor, university lecturer]
