Born 1838 son of John William Inglis, landed proprietor, Newington near Cupar and Elizabeth Hodgkinson. [Landowner]
Career
Went to India as a civil engineer in 1861. Worked in Province of Oudh until 1865 then Fyzabad on roads and bridges. Afterwards worked on Lower Ganges canal. Retired in 1880 to Edinburgh. [Engineer]
