Bought estate of Gordonshall in 1825. Elected to St Andrews town council, 1833. Had a brother Allan whose 2nd son was a shipmaster in Leven and his son Allan Briggs (1841) was Prof. Briggs' heir. [Landowner] Stepfather of James [Symes] Struthers (1813).

Death

Died 10.7.1840. Aged 72 at death.
