Carlos V expedition in 1534 against Tunis and its stronghold,La Goleta, was intended to reduce the powerful ally of the Sultan, Barbarossa. In this engraving we see the Bay of Tunis, closed by two moles, at the narrow passage of which stood the redoubt of La Goleta. You see galleys and galleons.
