Juan José Miñón

Lifespan: (1774 – 1847)

Biography

Juan José Miñón (1774-1847) was a soldier born in Irapuato (Guanajuato). He trained the Dragoon Regiment of Mexico and formed the 7th with various elements of different bodies. He was military Commander of Jalapa in 1822. The following year he pronounced against Iturbide. He was Commander General of the Californias, of Guanajuato, Jalisco y Zacatecas. He was internal prosecutor and later president of the Supreme Tribunal of War and Finance. He was also spokesman for the Junta of Ordinance and Consultancy. Miñón became Brigadier General in 1821 and he died in Mexico City in 1847.
