Mariano Macedo

Biography

Mariano Macedo (1807-1869) was a Secretary of State. He was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco. In this city he undertook his studies up until becoming a lawyer. In 1833 he joined the diplomatic service and was named Special Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Republics of Central America and Columbia. Macedo took on the role of Minister of Internal Relations under the Government of General Mariano Arista from 10 June – 10 September 1851. He died in the district of San Miguel, Mexico City.
