José Fernández

Lifespan: (1837 – 1894)

Biography

José Fernández (1837-1894) was a diplomat, who was born and died in Silao, Guanajuato. He was a lawyer who became radicalised in Mexico and was a Chief Official of the Ministry of External Relations and in charge of this office between 1 June and 22 June 1877, between 7 May and 19 June 1878 and from 23 September to 21 November 1880 and for the fourth time he was major official of the ministry of external relations in the government of General Manuel González, from 12 January to 19 January 1885 and for the fifth and final time from 2 June 1883 to 9 January 1885 during the presidency of Porfirio Díaz.
