Antonio Espinosa

Lifespan: (1825 – 1873)

Biography

Antonio Espinosa (1825-1873) was a writer and journalist born in Tacambaro, Michoacán. Here he undertook his primary education before moving to Morelia where his studies were interrupted by the revolution of Ayutla (1854-55). Espinosa also performed a number of noteworthy military actions. He wrote for various literary and political newspapers including El Sol de Ayutla, La Independencia: El Espiritu Piiblico, El Latigo y El Progreso Social. Espinosa was also a congressional deputy and he fought against the French Intervention and the Empire (1862-67). He died in Morelia.
