Francisco Andrade

Profession: Regular army officer

Biography

Francisco Andrade (1804-1843) was born in Mexico City and died in battle in what is now the State of Campeche during the campaign to crush the Yucatecan secessionist rebellion of 1840-43, in the action of China. He was involved in the insurgent struggle of independence (1810-21) at a very young age and was distinguished for his courage and skill. He was made General on 1 September 1840.
