Miguel Álvarez

Lifespan: (1842 – 1910)

Biography

Miguel Álvarez (1842-1910) was a soldier born in Guadalajara, Jalisco and son of General Manuel Álvarez. He fought against the French invasion achieved the rank of Major in the voluntary battalion of Colima. Álvarez defended Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada when Porfirio Díaz drafted the 1876. Plan de Tuxtepec in order to depose him. He was local deputy chief of the District of the centre of Colima (1876 y 1903) and he died in the Capital of this State.
