Juan Agea

Biography

Juan Agea (1795-1855) Born in Cádiz, Spain. Began his career in the Spanish Military Academy in 1813. In Mexico formed part of the Vice regal Army fighting against the insurgents. Supported the 1821 Plan of Iguala. Taught in the Military College of Trigonometry and Geometry. In the engineering corps he taught mathematics. Wrote a Police Instruction Manual. Assistant General of Staff of 1841-1842. Fought in the Mexican-American War in 1847.
