Alexander Abercrombie was a cavalry officer in the Dutch army. He commanded 100 cuirassiers in Nijmegen from 22 November 1638 until around 2 December 1642, when he seems to have been succeeded by one George Hume. Abercrombie appears to have been transferred to Friesland, as his name appears in the States of War for 1644 for that province.
