William Wilson was master of the David of Leven. He let his ship out for the Baltic trade in the 1630s.
Source: National Records of Scotland, GD237/7/56. 2 March 1636. Charter party in form of an indenture between James Smyth, merchant, burgess of Edinburgh, and William Wilson, skipper in Leven, master under God of the ship called the David, whereby said William lets to said James the ship to sail to St Monans by 10 March to transport salt to Stralsund or Grifswald [Greifswald] and return to Leith.
