William Scott, born 1540 in Scotland, moved to Sweden in 1601. He died in 1605. He was the son of William Patrickson Scott (1505-1570) and Margaret Vair, and the grandson of Patrick Scott of Balvivie (possibly Belhelvie or Balhelvie?) (1480-1545) and Elisabeth Lindsay. William Scott had three sons, James/Jakob [SSNE 1638], Olof and Robert. It was Olof's son, Joran Olofson Scott [SSNE 3437] who became ennobled in Sweden in 1645 as Pistolekors.
