Ewan McGregor (from Glenmoriston) is recorded as having been made a captain and preparing to "go for Sweden" in April 1629. Sir John Grant of Freuchie was encouraged to help him raise 100 men by his (Grant's) uncle, Lord Tullibardin. It is yet to be established if he reached Swedish service.
