William Forbes was a Scotsman living in Sweden in 1595. That year, on 4 September, his name appeared in the Stockholm consistory records as his wife, Elisabeth Henriksdotter [SSNE 8355], also a Scot, accused Forbes of deserting her and going to Poland. They had been married since 1594. Forbes responded that he had been been diverted as his brother had died.
