A ship called the 'Thomas' of Bergen was wrecked on the coast somewhere near Tain in 1594. It was owned by an Abraham Dewar, burgess of Bergen who later lodged his will with the Edinburgh Commissary Court in 1625.National Archives of Scotland, CC8/8/53.
