John Livingston was a Scottish minister and Presbyterian refugee in Rotterdam. He moved to the Dutch Republic in 1663 and was followed there by his family. His sons became merchants in the city while his daughter Janet [SSNE 7133] married the famous Scottish merchant, Andrew Russell [SSNE 143]. His sons were James [SSNE 7130], William [SSNE 7131] and Robert [SSNE 7132]
