George Ogilvie settled in Germany during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) and served as the commandant of the fortress of Spielberg, near Brünn in Moravia. He was entombed on the 7 of January 1661 in Brünn [today Brno, Czech Republic. His son, Georg Benedict, became a Polish and Saxon general and field marshal in 1710.T.
