Charles Ramsay arived in Danzig from Dundee in 1591 along with one Janotta Duncan [SSNE 6609]. They both went to work for one James Geletin. At the age of 29, Charles began to trade on his own in Elbing where he got made a merchant burgess. His family remained in the town after the Swedes ejected the English merchants of the Eastland Company soon after. He died in 1659. He had a son, also called Charles Ramsay who remained in the town, and descendants lived there until 1863.

This source confuses two men, and has Charles Ramsay dying in 1659 yet being made councillor in 1661.
