Laurence Davidson Lawson was the son of David Lawson who emigrated from Scotland to Norway in the 17th century. Laurence was born in 1594 and emigrated to Norway in 1613. There he married Magnhild Arnesdatter of Hjortland-Hjortaas. Laurence served the sheriff of Strandebarm, and also represented the district at the royal celebration of King Frederik's election in 1657. Their son Thomas Lauridzson later became the sheriff of Strandebarm. Laurence died in 1666Statsarkiv, Bergen: L.H.
