Alexander Forrat was the son of John (Hans) Foratt [SSNE 1615] and apparently the brother of Margaret Forrat [SSNE 6267]. In 1645 he served as a lieutenant in the Uppland regiment. In 1647 he received three farms in the Älvsborg region as royal donations. He was promoted to captain in 1649, serving in Hugo Hamilton's [SSNE 2582] regiment on the death of another captain. Hamilton was Forrat's brother in law. In 1650 he was a captain. He was ennobled that year on 12th of July and introduced under his father's entry. He may be the same as the captain Alexander Forrat who was with the Leijonhufvud infantry regiment at Stettin between 1655 and 1657. He died in 1657. Alexander Forrat married Anna Månersköld af Seglinge and fathered one daughter who lived to maturity, Margaretha Forrat (d.1724) [SSNE 6366].
