In October 1623, an Irishman called Michael (it not known if this is his first or last name) called into the Swedish agent in Denmark, Anders Svensson, while en-route to the King of Poland. He brought brought news to Svensson that James VI had said that Robert  Stewart [SSNE 529] could hire as many men and ships as he needed for his Polish levy, was preparing to transport them, and that they were already preparing a rendezvous in the north of Scotland. He was later noted in January 1624 in a letter from Sir James Spens [SSNE 1642] to Gustav II Adolf. Spens observed that Michael was a servant of Sir Robert Stuart and had recently returned to England via Holland. Nothing else is known of this man.
