Catherine Cochrane was the daughter of Sir John Cochrane [SSNE 1490] and Grace Butler, a cousin of the Duke of Ormond. She married Jacob Maclean [SSNE 312], eldest son of John Maclean, 1st Baronet Duart [SSNE 1631] and his first wife Anna Gubbertz. After 1660 the couple moved to Ireland where Jacob became a colonel in Stuart service and a gentleman of the bedchamber to the Stuart Court. They had one daughter, also called Catherine. Maclean was a colonel in Stuart's regiment and died in Ireland in 1663.J. N. M.
