Hans Persson Cahun was the son of Peter Cahun, factory owner in Falun. He served as a soldier in the Thirty Years' War and was demobbed in 1648. After leaving the army he took on some work as a scribe in the County Court in Östhammar. He became involved in a dispute with his sister over his share of their brother Jacob's inheritance (c.3000+ rdl). He married before 1662 and lived on until 1686.P.
