Text source
James Porteous was amongst the Scots and English in Lwow who subscribed to the subsidy for King Charles II in 1651. He paid 150 florins. He may be the same man as the Scottish minister called Porteous who operated in Danzig in the 1640s and whose daughter, Margaretha Porteous married the Stuart agent in that city, Francis Gordon [SSNE 1520].
