Alexander Gordon came from Brusst in Scotland and moved to Bergen in Norway c.1630. He was made a burgess cooper on 16 February 1631. He married Elizabeth Vernton, possibly a daughter of Gilbert Wentoun, and with her had three children, Gilbert, Alexander and Lisbeth. Lisbeth married Petter Pettersen who was, like her father, a burgess cooper. Together they had five children; Sander and Petter Pettersen and Griselle, Kristen and Elisabeth Pettersdatter. Griselle married Herbert Suhling sometime before 6 October 1710Bergen Statsarkiv, Sollied Archive, Gordon section. Female.
