Text source

Lt. Colonel James Douglas served as in the army of Hugh Mackay. In 1697 he had been promoted from captain to lt.-colonel and served in the Scots Foot Guards. It is possible that this is the same man who served as an ensign in Colonel Lauder's regiment in 1694.
