Alexander Reid was the son of David Reid [SSNE 4808]. He was born around 1605, in Sweden, and later served as a lieutenant in the Finnish cavalry. In 1645 he was a master of horse for the noble corps. He died in 1668. He married Elin Mattsdotter and obtained confirmation of his father's land endowment in 1649. Their sons David [SSNE 6677] and Johan [SSNE 6678] also entered Swedish military service
