Frederik Pfeiff was the son of Johan Jakob Pfeiff [SSNE 423] and the brother of Daniel [SSNE 4801]. They were both ennobled on their father's merits. Frederik was born in 1649. He was a 'konduktor' at the Narva fort in 1670. The next year he obtained permission to travel abroad as lieutenant of the fort. He returned in 1675 and served as a lieutenant with the Ostgota and then Uppland regiments. He was captured by the Danes when serving on the war fleet in 1677 at Kjogebukt. He departed from the Uppland regiment in 1678, the same year he was ennobled. He was introduced in 1680
