JACK, WELLAM [SSNE 4686]

William Jack is noted amongst the burgesses of Gothenburg in 1639 where he was listed as a general trader. In 1638 a Willem Jack exported timber to Anstruther as well as goods to London. He is probably the same as the Welom Jack noted as exporting timber to Anstruther and Crail in 1641. He also sent goods to Scotland in 1653, and to Ayr in 1656. His last shipment appeared to be to Copenhagen in 1660. He was probably a relative of James Jack [SSNE 7210].
