George Gordon from Banff or Brunt in Scotland was created a merchant burgess in Bergen as of 30 August 1700 having probably lived in the city since c.1695. He married Grizele Forbus who was buried in Bergen on 20 August 1728. George himself died on 23 July 1715. In his will it was noted that he had a brother John/Johan who lived in Rotterdam. He also had an unamed sister who lived in Scotland. George had some relationship with the Bergen burgess, Andrew Christie, who probably acted as his sponsor in the cityBergen Statsarkiv, Sollied Archive. Gordon section and index cards; N.
