William Lee is noted as having served in the Royal Navy in Britain. he was probably an Englishman, who along with Thomas Marshall [SSNE 4174], transferred to Swedish service on 1/3/1676 (although one source puts it at 22 February 1676). He was the captain of the 'Gothenburg' in admiral Creutz's fleet in May 1676, and then in admiral Horn's fleet in June 1677 during Sweden's war with Denmark-Norway. He was killed during an argument in Stockholm in April 1678.
