Gustaf Forbes was promoted to Ensign from corporal in the Uppland's regiment in 1700. He is mentioned on the regimental pay list of 1700. He is probably the great grandson of Henry Forbes of Thainstone. His parents were Peter Forbes and Margereta Swinhulvud. Gustaf died in 1705.
