Peter Learmonth was the son of George Learmonth [SSNE 3968]. He became a major in Russian service and then converted to Orthodoxy. He also became the governor of Saransk but died in 1679. He had two sons, Peter [SSNE 6723] and Yury [SSNE 6724] who compiled the family history in 1688.
