John Hill was a Scot who served as a lieutenant in Danish-Norwegian service in 1629. He was appointed naval lieutenant to patrol waters round Laeso with the Bergens Galej 30/4/1629. He was settled in Denmark-Norway and married Magdalene Gabrielsdatter
