Daniel Young jnr. was born in Stockholm in 1666 the son of Daniel Young [SSNE 4206]. He enrolled at Uppsala university in 1675. He thereafter served as a musketeer in the lifeguard in 1680 and as a pikeman in 1681. In 1682 Young became a sergeant (fältväbel). On taking a break from his regimental duties, he accompanied the envoy 'Fabritius' to Persia. On his return he became commissioned as a lieutenant in the governor's regiment in Riga in 1689 and to lieutenant captain in 1697. In 1701 he Young served as a captain before retiring from service in 1706. He died four years later in 1710.
