Thomas Scott served as an ensign with Gustaf Horn's Norrland regiment in 1622. He became captain in 1624 and was captain in Jakob Duwall's Norrland regiment in 1625. Scott transferred to become a captain in Johan Baner's Norrland regiment in 1625 though later returned to Jakob Duwall's Norrland regiment in 1626. He was captain in Lennart Torstensson's Norrland regiment in 1629 and a reformed captain in Helsinge regiment in 1630. Scott was captain in Vasterbotten's regiment in 1633 where he served until 1637.
