George Scott was, according to some sources, the son of Olof Scott [SSNE 7348] and born in Scotland in 1596. He then said to have emigrated to Sweden with his grandfather William [SSNE 7347] and his father in 1601. Other sources say the Scottish heritage is fictitious. In 1630 Gustav II Adolf granted him lands in Finland. He was ennobled as Pistolkors in 1645. By 1650 he was in Francis Johnstone's regiment.
